The role of different subtypes of Ca²⁺ channel and K⁺ channels including K_Ca and K_Na channels is being studied in different network neurons, and how they are modulated through different transmitters. The overall properties of different types of neurons with regard to Ca²⁺ and Na⁺ in the soma and dendrites and their effects on soma-dendritic function in relation to frequency regulation and plateau properties are in focus.
